Situated at the Upper Guadalupe River, the Canyon Lake Dam provides controlled release of fresh water into the Lower Guadalupe River.   The most popular section of the Guadalupe River runs between Canyon Lake and New Braunfels and when taking this scenic trip on River Road, the river crosses four times.
